Clothes are made to be worn. But sadly, even the most durable peices wear and tear a little over time.
Luckily, a loose seam or small tear is not the end of the world.
Always considering repairing before replacing.
Many problems can be fixed quickly at home, and more complex ones can be repaired by a skilled tailor.
Let us show you how!
What you need:
Button
Thread
Needle
Scissors
Match
1. Thread the yarn through the eye of the needle and then double the yarn. Knot the two ends together.
2. Make a stitch from the bottom through the fabric and up through one of the holes in the button.
3. Place a placeholder (a match is ideal) in the middle of the button. This will give the button some space to close more easily and will not pinch the fabric.
4. To fix the button in place, stitch 4-5 times across or straight into the remaining buttonholes.
5. Remove the placeholder and the thread bundle wrapped under the button with the thread before the thread is returned to the back of the fabric.
6. Knot the remaining thread tightly on the back and cut it off.
What you need:
Thread
Needle
Scissors
1. Use a pin to secure the label in place. This will prevent it from slipping.
2. Stitch through the label from the back of the fabric and sew 4-5 times.
3. On the last stitch, try to make a double knot as close to the fabric as possible. Cut off the remaining thread.
What you need:
Iron-on fleece
Iron
Scissors
Cotton fabric
1. Cut a piece of iron-on fleece to cover the hole.
2. Turn the garment inside out. Press the fabric around the hole to make the hole as small as possible.
3. Place the iron-on fleece over the hole, cover with a piece of cotton fabric and iron for about 30 seconds.
What you need:
Thread
Needle
Scissors
1. Thread the yarn through the eye of the needle and then double the yarn. Knot the two ends together.
2. Start where the seam has not yet dissolved and sew small stitches across the intact seam towards the hole.
3. Start where the seam hasn't unraveled yet and sew small stitches over the intact seam and towards the hole.
4. To get a straight seam, use the original pinholes in the fabric as a guide.
5. Once the hole is closed, sew a few stitches on the intact seam on the other side.
6. At the end, knot the yarn as close to the fabric as you can.
What you need:
Replacement string
Safety pin
If the string on your SANVT hoodie breaks, you can contact us and we will send you a replacement cord.
Here's how to rethread it:
1. Attach a safety pin to one end of the cord.
2. Thread the cord through the tunnel of the hoodie and push the safety pin forward as you bunch the fabric.
