IMPACT REPORT 2023

Our Mission: To be the basis of a better everyday life with the future of the planet in mind.

"BY THE END OF 2024, WE AIM TO PLAN TO USE MORE THAN 80% RECYCLED OR ORGANIC FIBERS. THIS MEANS LESS WASTE AND FEWER CHEMICALS [...]"

- Benjamin Heyd, Co-Founder

Our Vision

We want to inspire customers to live a less but better lifestyle.

Our Achievements in 2023

A year to remember

We have planted 33.000 trees last year.
We compensated 100% of the carbon emissions we caused.
We continued to produce all of our Essentials in Europe.

LAST YEAR WAS ALL ABOUT...

BEING 100% TRANSPARENT

The fashion industry is known for its complexity and intransparent supply chains. We - at SANVT - want to change this. We showcase all of our production facilities. In 2023 we visited 100% of our first tier suppliers in Portugal.

BEING CLIMATEPARTNER-CERTIFIED

Our goal has always been to maintain our philosophy to minimise the impact we have on nature by constantly trying to reduce our carbon footprint. In 2023, we also analysed and offset our corporate emissions, such as electricity in our offices and business travels.

PLANTING 33.000 TREES

In 2023 we planted 33.000 trees. Unfortunately, we didn't reach our goal of planting 50% more trees than in previous year. Instead we focused strongly on reducing (and offsetting) our carbon emissions and increased our financial support for carbon offsetting projects.

SOURCING MORE ORGANIC COTTON

The fibre content of the majority of our products (15 out of 21) is organic or recycled. Other essentials, such as our signature product The Perfect T-Shirt, are made from ELS cotton, which is not classified as organic. We did not change as we do not want to compromise on quality.

STEPS WE'RE CURRENTLY TAKING

Besides last year's achievements we are always drive to improve. We're focusing on sustainable materials, less waste, chemical-free production and reduced carbon, all while delivering exceptional quality and having a positive impact on the lives of people that work with us.

Equal Pay

Transparent traceability is essential for SANVT. Over the past years, we have built a network of direct partners in Portugal. In 2023 we collaborated with 8 garment producers and 9 fabric suppliers in Portugal, Italy & Poland.

We have got to know the people who produce our Essentials and have taken an unbiased look behind the scenes. We document every step of the production process, including how workers are paid and treated. One example: 100% of our suppliers ensure equal pay for men and women.

ClimatePartner-certified

In 2023 we have implemented the 5 step climate strategy from ClimatePartner:

- Calculate emissions

- Set reduction targets

- Reduce emissions

- Support climate protection projects

- Communicate transparently

Protecting Oceans

To protect our oceans from further pollution, we use only chemical-free dyes in our production. This natural dyeing process not only protects the environment, but also produces high quality and long-lasting colours. But that's not all: thanks to closed water cycles, we also recycle the water we use, so nothing that doesn't belong in nature ends up there.

100% Plastic Free

In addition to the indispensable and recyclable natural fibre cotton, SANVT also focuses on innovation. That's why we also use exciting materials such as Lyocell or recycled wool for our Essentials. Wherever possible, we do not use synthetic fibres, thus minimizing the use of plastics. That's why we also use recycled paper envelopes for our packaging.

Locally Social

In addition to our commitment to the environment, we also seek to act in a socially responsible manner. That's why we sold our samples on a small scale and donated all the proceeds to the Münchner Tafel e.V. This local charity helps those in need by donating food, thereby reducing food waste. We hope to hold another sample sale in 2024 and support the Tafel once again.

OUR GOALS FOR 2024

We are not at the end of the road. There's always space to improve our standards, relations and processes. That is why we have set goals for the new year that we want to achieve.
