At SANVT, we're proud to be transparent — from how our essentials are made to where our materials come from. But we felt like something was missing: a closer look at the people behind the brand. That’s why we’re launching a new blog series: “Team Talks: Behind the Scenes at SANVT.” In each edition, we’ll ask a few thoughtful questions to spotlight the unique personalities on our team — from how they spend their Sundays to what they love most about working at SANVT. First up? Our our co-founder, Benjamin.

Can you share a memorable project or experience you’ve had with the team?

"We were at the StijlMarkt trade fair in Munich in the fall of 2023 and that was basically the first time that I, as the founder (who had already been working on the brand for 5-6 years), had direct customer contact. We had invited our closest customers in the greater Munich area, who then turned up in large numbers. That was a great satisfaction for me and extremely impressive. Seeing strangers with our products or enthusiastic about our products - that was probably the most special event. (Last year at the pop-up was basically the same feeling, but it was already the second time, so maybe itwasn't as special)."

We asked Benjamin where he thinks he would work today, if it wasn't fashion.

"Personally, I've always been interested in architecture, interior design - anything that combines design and architecture. Furniture design would also have been an option at some point. So maybe when I'm older and let SANVT be SANVT, I could imagine studying something along those lines."

What has been your proudest moment of SANVT so far?

"If I look back over the last year, the proudest moment is that we won two awards for the best white T-shirt - with our signature product, which I launched onto the market almost single-handedly at the time, and that is a kind of self-confirmation for my achievements.

For me personally, as founder and CEO, it is of course extremely satisfying when I see the team having fun at work, being motivated and enjoying the great projects we are working on together. In general, that's the biggest motivation for me every day."

Fun Fact about Benjamin: as a teenager, he almost became a professional snowboarder. He also had a few sponsorships, but then broke his arm twice and has ever since decided that maybe it's not his thing after all.

What is your favourite SANVT Essential?

"I would say there are two. Firstly, of course, the perfect T-shirt that I wear every day. I normally wear L/short for this. The second favorite product is our Relaxed Chino, which I wear every day as well. I wasn't a person who wears chino at all before I founded SANVT, before we launched the pants. But since then, these have been my everyday trousers - in all colors. Lately mainly black."

Benjamin: "It depends a bit on the time of year, of course. I try to take time off on the weekends. Nature always helps me a lot, either hiking or, if the weather is a bit warmer, cycling somewhere in the countryside on my gravel bike. And that's my best way to relax at the weekend, to completely recharge my batteries. Racing bikes aren't really my thing because I don't like car traffic."

If money wouldn’t matter: what would be your dream project for SANVT?

"What would really appeal to me if money wasn't an issue, but at our size wouldn’t realistically make sense now, is to integrate ourselves vertically in some way. That we set up our own production or as a joint venture with a Portuguese partner - we have relatively close relationships with our manufacturers. That we have our own factory, so to speak. But it doesn't make much sense on our scale. There would be a million things that would be difficult to solve, where we simply wouldn't know enough about the day-to-day business of a factory.

A bit more realistic goal as far as vertical integration is concerned - it is relatively well known by now – would be to open our own store."

"Seeing strangers with our products or enthusiastic about our products - that was probably the most special moment."

It all began with a white T-Shirt and two brothers with a vision: creating high-quality essentials at a fair price. Six years later with the bespoken T-Shirt having won an independent product test and several team members later - co-founder Benjamin looks back on SANVT’s development with pride. Motivated by the team dynamics and excited for new projects, he is eager to see what the future holds for SANVT. Stay tuned for our next edition of our series: “Team Talks: Behind the scenes of SANVT".
